Based since its establishment in the Saint-Etienne region, the THUASNE company has become an expert in narrow elastic textiles techniques. The company made a major strategic turn in 1950, when it became a producer of high added value finished products for the medical market: "elastic compression products". Today, THUASNE makes elastic compression bandages, medical belts, adhesive and cohesive bandages, orthopaedic supports (medical ankle and knee braces), as well as medical compression stockings and tights.
According to the chairman Elizabeth DUCOTTET, the three aims of this company is “to care, to protect and to develop”.
That’s why, on Tuesday, June 26th during its Asian tour, a representative of the group specialized into orthopaedic materials came to Jakarta to visit the main retailers of these kind of products.
So as to make the contact as good as possible from a retailer to another, the business development manager from IFCCI Mr Surya Mahakama Ismail accompanied Mr Herman Ozgan (foto), who was in Indonesia for the first time, all day long.
The first visit was done in PT ESA MANDIRI where Mr Eddy and Mr Surya (two of the three shareholders of the company) received them in one of their meeting rooms.
Thanks to their respective knowledge and professionalism, the communication has been easily established between the representative of Thuasne and the Indonesian management team. According to them, it seemed that even if the products are a bit more expensive than what they usually buy, the quality is worth the price!
They have even been really impressed by a lumbar belt made of a special fabric THUASNE is the only one to create in the world: COMBITEX. The very special characteristic of this fabric is that on one side, the sweat is absorbed while the other side makes it out. It seems that this kind of products is much more adapted to the Indonesian people living in a very hot country.
The second visit led them to PT KEBAYORAN PHARMA.
It occurred that this company made its name famous in the industry thanks to its medicines and that now, it wants to develop its business thanks to materials such as Thuasne materials.
With the same Combitex belt and plenty of other samples he brought (breast prosthesis, wrist and knee braces etc), Mr Herman Ozgan didn’t have to face much difficulties to convince four managers and one doctor of this company about the quality of the products he was talking about!
The last company IFCCI and THUASNE visited is called SHIMATRA. Actually it is a famous retailer of orthopaedic materials in Jakarta. But actually he seems to be more focused on selling directly to potential clients rather than hospitals, clinics and doctors, which THUASNE actually reach.
Soon, it may happen that THUASNE expose its products in IFCCI’s showroom for a three or four days event where all the doctors, distributors, and representatives of Health Ministry and other officials are going to be invited.
