February, 2007 - IFCCI


Her Excellency Ambassador Catherine Boivineau, the Chief of Economic Mission, Mr. Franck Perrault and the Chairman of IFCCI, Mr. Alain Pierre Mignon, visited Batam on February 20th & 21st 2007.
The purpose of this visit was the participation of a workshop, organized in the Marine Culture Development Center on Asian Seabass & Tiger Grouper Aquaculture Progress as well as the visit of the Batam Chamber of Commerce to start to talk about the organization of a trip to Batam with a French business delegation.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



 

In this event, Oceanic Development with the collaboration of IDEE & with the participation of the local department of fisheries whose research are mainly focused on Asian seabass & tiger grouper progress presented  what  the French technology can achieve in order to bring a brighter future for the local fisheries.
On the SMCD project in Batam, the consortium representatives, Mr Yves Boixel & Mr. Benoit Husson presented the  design ,equipment and installation  steps as well as the details process to produce 3.000.000   3 inches alevins per year keeping diseases away.

This project & technology presented by Oceanic Development & IDEE to the local department of fisheries was financed by soft loan from the French government.
During this two days Mr Doctor Syamsul Bahrum Phd represented the Mayor and the secretary of directorate General of fisheries, Ir. Mohammad Rahmat Ibrahim M.aq welcomed the French delegation and expressed their interest into this French technology mentioning others potential projects to be implemented soon.

Meeting with Batam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Indonesia French Chamber Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) on 21st February 2007.

Mrs. Nada Faza Soraya Chairwoman of BCCI explained its Vision and the Missions of Batam Chamber of Commerce.

Alain-Pierre Mignon, as Chairman of IFCCI visited BCCI with purpose to discuss and evaluate projects in Batam. IFCCI proposed to bring a Delegation to visit Batam and conduct meetings with BCCI, Governor/Mayor to discuss Batam potential, prospects, and needs, for future cooperation.

Furthermore, Mr. Mignon also has noted a few projects in BATAM which might interest French Companies, such as:

  • Highway with 16 Km length
  • Batam – Bintan Bridge
  • BATAM Sea port (Batuampar Seaport)

A French company is already negociating the sea port location permit.  

  • At the end of the meeting, in order to facilitate the above purpose, BCCI will provide to IFCCI   up-dated members database and Batam potential projects
